The MAX489CPD is a low-power transceiver for RS-485 and RS-422 communication. Each part of the MAX489CPD contains one driver and onereceiver. The MAX489CPD features reduced slew-rate drivers that minimize EMI andreduce reflections caused by improperly terminated cables, thus allowing error-free data transmission up to 250kbps. The driver slew rates of theMAX489CPD are not limited, allowing it totransmit up to 2.5Mbps. Applications of the MAX489CPD include: Level Translators, Transceivers for EMI-Sensitive Applications, Industrial-Control Local Area Networks.
